RRB NTPC Graduate Result 2025 Declared — CBT-1 Scorecards

Result in RRB NTPC Graduate Level CBT-1 Declared: Zone-Wise Merit & Cut-Offs Scorecards.

RRB RRB NTPC Graduate Level CBT-1 was announced on September 19, 2025, and individual scorecards and zone-wise merit lists were made available on the official RRB portals.

The results include Graduates in Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) applicants who took CBT-1 in consecutive shifts in the period of 5 -24 June 2025. This is a welcome development to the approx. 36 lakh aspirants who had been anxious since the exams ended. To the aspiring candidates, the declaration is an important milestone, as it makes the path to the appearance in CBT-2 possible. According to RRB, the following stage of the selection process, CBT-2, is expected to run during the third week of October 2025, and this does not leave the aspirants much time to prepare specifically. The timely publication of the results also supports the RRB strategy in expedited recruiting processes, which is often demanded by hopefuls and coaching organizations.

The RRB NTPC recruitment exercise is considered as one of the most competitive exams in India that selects the candidates to occupy graduate level jobs in the Indian Railways, including Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Account Clerk, Senior Time Keeper, and other important non-technical positions that ensure the running of the Indian Railways in smooth motions. Such jobs are very competitive since the job security, good salary package, and other benefits associated with a central government job are better.

The Graduate Level CBT-1 in June 2025 was to be done in various shifts in all the 21 RRB zones so that candidates in the metros, Tier-2, and in rural areas have been covered. To ensure fairness among sessions, RRB employs highly developed normalization procedures to equalise the marks whereby, the degree of difficulty in question papers in one shift is slightly off the difficulty level in question papers in another shift. CBT-2 shortlisting is solely on merit basis and it is based on a mix of cut-off by category and vacancies being advertised in each zone. In the 2025 recruitment cycle, RRB had posted 8,113 graduate level vacancies, which were distributed zone-wise with Mumbai, Secunderabad and Kolkata contributing the highest number of vacancies.

The morning of September 19, 2025, was nervous in a Delhi coaching centre where students were grouped together staring at laptops and smartphones and refreshing the RRB result page. Precisely at 10:05:00, scorecards began loading, and the room was filled with a combination of cheers, gasps and silent disappointments. To a huge number of the candidates, this outcome day was the culmination of months of late-night studies, practice question papers, and spending hours in other city exam centres travelled to.

Note: Figures are zone-wise cut-offs or widely reported ranges. Please verify official numbers from your regional RRB website.

The cut-offs are quite different depending on number of applicants per zone, level of difficulty of particular shifts and availability of vacancies in terms of category. Indicatively, the cut-offs in Mumbai are always higher because of the large number of aspirants per vacancy, but in areas where the competition is low, such as Guwahati, the cut-offs may be slightly lower.

Official Reactions

RRB Spokesperson (public advisory):
“Candidates can download their CBT-1 scorecards from their regional RRB websites using their registration credentials. Zone-wise merit lists have been published, and we will release city allotment and CBT-2 schedules shortly. Candidates are advised to retain a printed copy of their scorecard for document verification stages.”

Dr. Amit Verma, Senior Recruitment Officer, RRB Mumbai:
“This year’s exam witnessed participation from a record number of candidates across multiple shifts. Normalization has been applied wherever necessary to maintain fairness. The published merit lists reflect both performance and category reservations as mandated.”

Tanya S., Aspirant:
“I checked my score early in the morning and felt relieved to see that I cleared the cut-off for the UR category. However, the competition seems very tight this year, and I will need to work extra hard on reasoning and GA before CBT-2.”

Rahul Menon, Education Analyst:
“With UR cut-offs clustering around 72–77 in major zones, CBT-2 will be more competitive. Candidates should shift focus to time management and accuracy in reasoning and arithmetic, as these sections can make or break final selection.”

Impact

Publication of CBT-1 outcome brings sanity and this terminates speculations among aspirants and coaching schools of thought. To those who have already got eligible, the CBT-2 preparation time is limited, and this aspect only increases the necessity of having a focused studying plan, sectional mock tests, and targeted revision. To non-qualifiers, the cut-off data would be used as a reference point to plan the next cycle or other competitive exams like SSC CGL, CHSL, or state-wide railway exams.

Policywise, the regional difference in cut-offs once again makes the balanced vacancies distribution and the significance of transparent normalization. Historically, there have been complaints by certain applicants in previous recruitment cycles about the existence of differences in normalization between shifts, with the announcement by RRB of normalization information as a direct part of scorecards this year being generally viewed as a positive move towards equity and visibility.

What's Next

Short-term Measures: Applicants are to receive their scorecards and zone-based merit lists in PDF format and store it securely. This is very essential since the document will be required at the time of document verification and during reference.

CBT-2 Preparation: Since CBT-2 is projected in the 3 rd week of October 2025, aspirants ought to develop a 3-week revision strategy with weak points of their performance in CBT-1. It is advisable to attempt at least 8-10 full-length mock tests, in order to develop exam temperament.

In Case of Non-Qualifiers: Note down the cut-offs that they lost marks in, and strategize a more long term approach to the upcoming recruitments. Other governmental employment like SSC MTS, IBPS Clerk and state PSC exams can also be considered.

Ending Word: Publication of CBT-1 results is a significant breakthrough to lakhs of aspirants. CBT-2 will be the next phase which will eventually decide who can get the coveted graduate level NTPC posts. As the clock runs out, it will be the preparation with discipline and regular practice that will make it or break it.
